We meet again, fabulous blog readers! I recently photographed my best friend’s engagement session! I have known Rochelle since we were in the 3rd grade and when we met we were inseperable. We did 4-H showing our horses together. We have kept in contact through all of these years, and I am so honored that they asked me to do their engagement and wedding photos! This soon-to-be wedded couple will be getting married in 2016 at Panther Beach in Santa Cruz, CA. I get the honor of not only being her maid of honor, but also photographing their awesome love on their wedding day. We have chosen the beach, because they want their wedding to be simple, and only having their very close family and friends. We are going to do a vintage beach wedding, with a bbq and bonfire for the reception! I am so excited to help them plan all the details!!
Where did you guys meet? We met in a meeting of Narcotics anonymous. (Rochelle actually asked Chris out on a date – hehe – I know the whole story, it’s actually pretty cute… but maybe another time…) 🙂
How did he propose? Haha, it wasn’t so much a proposal as it was “oh my God, my ring is back from the sizers! Lets go get it!!”
Tell me about the details you’re most excited about for your upcoming wedding! Ex. The cake, the vendors, the location, etc.
I am most excited about the theme! A laid back vintage, beach wedding with a family reunion feel, and the pies instead of cake, I think it will be unique and fun!
Where are you getting married? The wedding will be on Panther Beach in Santa Cruz.
Where is the reception? The reception will be in the Ocean at the beach in Santa Cruz! Volleyball anyone?
Who is catering the wedding? We are not having a caterer, we are going to do a bbq and a bonfire
Who is the DJ? Haven’t quite figured that out, probably just dock a smartphone to some good speakers and use a playlist. I know it is going to be a very unique and gorgeous wedding!
These guys plan on letting me take the lead a little and do tons of photos! We’ve even discussed going to do photo the day after the wedding, and getting in the water!! How fun! We might also go to Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk, and take some photos of them on the Ferris Wheel, and on the other rides – and probably take photos of them playing games all dressed up in the Arcade!! Future wedding details aside, let’s get to the present: Rochelle and Chris’ engagement session! These two are real naturals in front of the camera. Their good looks, fabulous outfit choices, a sublime location and their genuine love for each other made this photo shoot one of my favorites yet, and a truly enjoyable experience!
What did you each wear to your session? We had a couple outfits, but the feel was country. I had an ivory lace dress in some and wore jeans and flannel in others, he wore jeans and a casual sweater.
How was your overall session experience? It was a lot of fun, there are a few things I would have done differently but the photographer took a lot of stress off of us and we just had a great day!
May these two live happily ever after! Here’s to many, many happy years together!)
