I couldn’t wait for this session. I was thrilled to be able to do not only Colton’s newborn session, but also to do Michelle’s maternity session <here>. Michelle contacted me after moving to Granite Bay from the Bay Area, and she was looking for a photographer for her maternity and newborn session. We met up and I brought my little guy along who was about 5 months at the time, and we hit it off and got to know a little about what she was wanting out of her maternity and newborn session. I love getting to know the parents before the baby is born, because I feel like when it comes time for you to come into their home for the newborn session, you feel a little more like you know each other. (I haven’t gotten my in-home studio together just yet – that process is taking way longer than expected with a little rascal constantly crawling around and trashing the house! That, and my office has become the catch-all room of the house.) I was able to talk with Michelle about what she was wanting for her newborn session, and she told me that his nursery was going to be superhero themed, and that she knew that she wanted to get a cape for him for his session! Well, that cape was ADORABLE, and so was he! Here are some images from baby Colton’s session!
