It was such an absolute pleasure to do this beautiful family’s session. It was very relaxed and everyone was so easy going and raw. I LOVE it when that happens. When Weidyne contacted me, she said, “I love how a natural smile looks”, and I replied back to her that I will do my best to get those smiles, but that to get those, they needed to let me direct the session without telling their children to “smile at the camera” or “say cheese” or “look at Tosha”. Well, I love that this family kept that in mind because I got SOOO many REAL, ORGANIC moments in this session and was able to capture the beautiful relationships that each parent had with their children! It’s amazing the difference in the atmosphere when kids don’t feel like they are doing something wrong, or “NO, LOOK AT THE CAMERA!” is being scolded at them. It really does lower their confidence and they just don’t feel like this is fun at all, it just feels negative, and they probably aren’t going to want to take pictures again. So I urge my clients to let me control the session, unless there is a safety issue, just let the kids be kids and we will get those moments. Here are some beautiful images from this family’s session!
