Lake Tahoe CA Wedding Photographer – Lisa & Will McDonald Wedding – Picchetti Winery

Well, I LOVED doing this wedding. I can say that this was one of the most lively and warm-hearted couples that I have ever met and they had great family and friends, and I can honestly say that I never again, expect to do photography for a couple, who’s wedding runs RIGHT ON SCHEDULE ever again. I think that was amazing and will probably be something that I can consider a first and a last.

{Anyway, here is their story!}

We met in college. The typical stupid boy, smart girl story, only it wasn’t so typical. It all happened in April of 2007 in a Meteorology class when Will asked Lisa if she understood the material in the textbook. Lisa suggested she help Will study for the upcoming test, so the next day Will and Lisa met in the library. Rather than studying they talked for nearly five hours, laughing and being silly as if no one else in the library was actually there to do work. Soon though, Will realized Lisa’s “knowledge” of meteorology consisted of clouds…and well that was about the extent of it. Lisa in fact was pretending to be smart to get Will’s attention and Will was pretending to be stupid in hopes of wooing Lisa. Their plan worked, and the rest is history.

Over the past three years, Will and Lisa shared many interests and passions together. Will taught Lisa to snowboard in the lush Sierra-Nevada Mountains of Tahoe (their favorite place). Lisa taught Will about the sport of archery and hunting. They also shared the same career interests – Will studied for a degree in Marketing and Lisa earned her degree in Advertising. They also worked side-by-side in a marketing communications competition for school.

In May 2009, Will and Lisa graduated from the University of Nevada, Reno together (after which took a lot of forceful studying in the library), and a year later they bought a beautiful house together in Reno. In September 2010, Will took Lisa on an unforgettable cruise to the Caribbean.

On the first evening aboard the Freedom of the Seas Cruise Ship, an extraordinary lightening storm spread across the seas and bright orange flashes lit up the night sky. Will asked Lisa to dance to their song, “1-2-3-4” by the Plain White T’s which he had downloaded on his cell phone. Will and Lisa danced on the deck in the front of the cruise ship – again as if the two were the only people on the entire ship. When the song was over, Will got down on one knee and asked Lisa to marry him. (Her answer is sort of obvious).

And this would be after a glass of RED WINE was spilled all over the front of her dress!! REALLY!?!?!?!?! See what I mean, some of the most laid back fun loving, genuine people ever! {Oh, and by the way, I strongly believe this stuff that they used to get the wine off of her dress is needed for any bride “JUST IN CASE” or even for around the home! Its called Wine-Off! Amazing stuff! Her dress looked just like new after her scrub down. I totally remember this moment… Lisa’s friend was talking about the rubdown she was getting while they were getting the wine off her dress… And so the bride says, “Yeah, and its not even the honeymoon yet!” Her mom’s, “OH, LISA!” was what got this reaction!

As you can see… her one bridesmaid, who’s name was also Tasha {Natasha}, was not interested in actually catching the bouquet!! Haha
