So Deeanna is actually a long lost friend from preschool… yes you read that right – PRESCHOOL. I have known Deanna since about the age of 3 and then when my parents moved to Penryn, Ca when I was about 9 {in about the 5th grade}, I lost touch with most of my childhood friends. THANK GOD FOR FACEBOOK! So I was looking through some friends that I kept in touch with throughout the years and for some reason I couldn’t find Miss Deeanna. Turns out she changed her last name and was a mutual friend with my friend Alidia! I requested her on facebook and we started to go back and forth and she would see my photos that I would post every now and then. So when I got a message from her mom {our moms used to be friends too} that Deeanna would love for me to be at her baby shower, I jumped at the opportunity! I was thinking that I should get her a gift, and I also wanted the chance to get to know her again {since it had literally been about 15 or so years since I had seen her} and see if our friendship was able to be rebuilt. So I figured that a good way to get the time to get to know her better would be to offer her maternity portraits and her baby’s newborn photos as a gift. Well I think that it worked as a great gift! So great, that I decided to do this for my cousin-in-laws as well as their gift {watch for those posts}.
So Deeanna, now she has a whole lot more life experience than I do… She is in the Army, and so is her husband Shawn {who is active duty in Afganistan right now}, and … get this… she LIVED in Hawaii… must be nice!! As we spent time together, we talked, we laughed and I felt immediately comfortable, as if we had been friends for years {well I guess we had… just with a long gap}
