I have been wayyyyy slacking on posting on my website, so excuse me for doing multiple posts in a row. in advance. I have been busy shooting, but not enough time in the office to post these beautiful families. Brian and I just got back from Mexico… well now, a month ago, and I have been in Mexico-land since we got back! We got to have a baby free vacation, which we both so desperately needed. I have been so inspired to get myself fit since I got back, and have been focusing on my fitness journey and also my baby boy. After being away from him for a week, I have been desperately trying to make up my time with him. which consists of playing a LOT in the backyard, teaching him new words and how to brush his teeth and wash his hands, and we are about to start on potty training. I came home with a renewed sense of energy to clean and organize my spaces since I find it sooo much easier to work in areas that I am not distracted and HAUNTED by all the clutter and mess. It helped that before we left for Mexico, I did every item of laundry and I cleaned this house as if we were having some sort of house inspection. When I got back, that’s what I wanted to focus on. Now that all my spaces are clean. and my office is clean (with a promise of a new desk) I am looking forward to being behind my computer working on all my beautiful clients’ photos and putting their memories on display here.
This family is such a sweet bunch. Cullen works with my husband, so that’s how we all met, and Nicole and I hit it off from the first time I met her. Isn’t it awesome to meet people from work that you actually like and then become friends? Oh, come on, you know what I’m talking about!
We decided to do their session at a location that I have shot at many times, but never get tired of. It is on the border of Loomis/Granite Bay and no matter what time of year, it always photographs well, and I know exactly where the light is going to fall when the sun sets. The pond is full of bull frogs, and the grass is always a little damp here, but it is a beautiful place – and I am not saying anything bad about frogs. Weird fact: I jumped 2 frogs at the Calaveras County Fair one year when I was about 10 or 11. If you don’t know anything about that, you should probably check it out. It’s a thing.
Without further adieu, I present to you the beautiful Smith Family. Here are some images from their session:
Son of a gun, this is so hepflul!
