I was contacted by this beautiful girl to do her maternity and newborn photos when she moved to this area from Southern California, and was looking for a photographer. I got to meet with her to talk over her session and what she was looking for. She was wanting to explore to find a really pretty area for her photos. I had never shot there before, but I had heard of Empire Mine in Grass Valley, and I thought that we could give that a try. After she looked at some photos online of the location, she agreed, and we had our session set up. Now we didn’t exactly have the best of luck with this, not because we didn’t get beautiful photos (we definitely did that), but since I had never shot there before, I told them to meet me there at 4:30 to start their session not knowing that they closed sharp at 5pm! I wanted to cry, honestly. I obviously attract AMAZING clients though, because they just took it in stride, and I told them that we would go into downtown, and wherever around the area to get great shots after we had to leave there, and they were cool with that. I honestly thought I would DIE, so I am glad that they were understanding, and we were able to get some great shots! I can’t wait to do her newborn photos for her little “superhero” baby boy due mid-December!
